Ooops

Posted October 29, 2008 at 1:41 am by Suz in Doing the right thing

Remember, way back when, when Miss Tara Kirk was on TLC’s “What Not To Wear”? Remember?

Do you also remember that I promised a video? I just remembered myself!

So, I’m scouring my hard drive looking for it. I capped it with my trusty Win TV PVR (Basically, it’s TIVO for a computer), so it’s around here somewhere. I think I owe y’all a video of Lezak on Ellen’s show as well. Right?

I’ll get on that ASAP! Not like I’m doing anything lately except figuring out how to run outdoors without ever being cold.

BTW, I really hope no one’s been emailing us via the contact form. You’d be better served making a comment on a post or something. I suck at life and have not even logged in there since BEFORE Trials. So yea. Any lack of a reply isn’t me being a douchebag, just really really really really lazy. My bad!

Cullen Getting Shine on YBF

Posted October 20, 2008 at 8:52 pm by Suz in Out n' About, Pimpin' Aint Easy, Random

I’m a regular visitor to The YBF. For those of you not in the know, that stands for the ‘Young, Black, & Fabulous’. I gots to keep up on my peoples, ya know!

Anyway, I was looking through some recent posts and came across this one from earlier today.

YBF gave props to Cullen and showed a pic of him at one of his Diversity Tour stops. And judging from the comments, there look to be some newly created CJ fans. Never a bad thing, huh?

We’re Alive… I Swear!

Posted October 9, 2008 at 1:28 am by Suz in Keepin' It Real

Well, at least I am! I can’t speak for anyone else!

You’ll have to talk to the other girls and see if they’re around. They rely on me to do all the posting instead of contributing themselves every now and then. I’m gonna start cracking skulls if they don’t start putting their ‘posting hats’ on from time to time.

I’m serious. I’m crazy. Y’all don’t know me!

Anyway, I’d like to say that I still miss seeing swimming on TV all the time. And I miss everyone else in the sports world caring about swimming as well. BOOOOOO!

Anyway, Golden Goggles nominees are out! Who do we think is going to win?

P.S. Carrie is temporarily excluded from my threats due to the state of South Dakota hating our Swim Aids website. Michigan >>>> South Dakota. Time to transfer, Carrie.

Nike Swimwear: Auf’d?

Posted September 24, 2008 at 12:14 am by Carrie in Train Wrecks

What a post?  Yes!  That’s right!  There actually is something to post other than Sir Phelps and his reign over the airwaves.

In a recent press release, Nike Inc. announced that they would no longer invest in competitive swimwear – it was never really in their “long-term” plans.  However, they still will supply their contracted athletes.

“Nike has made a strategic decision as part of the company’s long-term growth plan to focus efforts against its successful swimwear business at retail,” according to the prepared statement provided by spokesman Bob Applegate. “We will continue to supply coaches and collegiate institutions under Nike sponsorship with competitive Nike swimsuits, including Nike Swift Swim that won a combined 15 Olympic medals and set 15 world records since its debut in 2003, but we will not invest in next-generation swim innovation which is not in line with our stated category growth strategy.

Hayley Peirsol Moves On To Triathlons

Posted September 8, 2008 at 5:07 pm by Suz in Swim Chicks Rule!

When we posted about Hayley Peirsol’s retirement from swimming, earlier this year we were pretty shocked.

But then one of her teammates told us that she was just “over it” and burned out. Then we understood completely.

Hayley has now turned into a triathlete and is loving it! Her goals include making the 2012 US Olympic Team as a triathlete.

According to the Daily Pilot, Hayley has already competed in 3 races and is already winning again.

“I just figured I would try this out. In the past two months, I’ve become more passionate about it, more than I ever had been about swimming.”

The Swim Aids wish Hayley well as she embarks on this new and exciting journey!

Rehab Anyone?

Posted August 29, 2008 at 2:23 am by Suz in Keepin' It Real

I don’t know about the rest of y’all, but I may be in need of a rehab stint.

After building up and anticipating these Olympics (since Athens ended), I’m having a hard time dealing with the withdrawals of them being done.

They just can’t be already done. Quick! Someone bring them baaacckk!

I’m encouraged that NBC is so enamoured with Sir Phelps that they have agreed to air the World Champs in Rome (I’m going. No, really. I am!), and the CP Summer Nationals from 2009 – 2011. However, being the skeptical individual I am, I’ll believe it when I see it! And it better not be on at like 1AM like ESPN tried to pull with the 2004 Short Course Worlds from Indy. We’re watching you, NBC!

So, sorry about the tumbleweeds blowing by the blog lately. We can’t help it. We miss the Olympics.

In other site related news, we’ll be upgrading our blog software soon. So, if you visit and everything’s broken that’s probably why; unless Carrie decided to make another post. Jay Kay, Carrie ;)
