Well, here it is! The new look at The Swim Aids! And if you don’t see it, hit refresh (F5)

I’m currently obsessed with the ripple water effect that you see in the new header. I’m using it everywhere, including paid work. I’m told it has a calming effect and around here, we are alllll about that! I am also aware that it takes a few seconds to download the first time around. Just think, if you continue to come back, that won’t be a problem! Your temporary internet files should keep it in tact!

Also, you may have noticed some new content on the far sidebar. We are displaying our RSS feed from our new “side project” as hinted in the comments. Yes, we know you read those, even if you aren’t joining in. That new side project should be no surprise to people who actually have checked out the “Special Guest” page. Pimpin’ the Club Wolverine program is something we do entirely too often around here, as evidenced by the category Club Wolverine Owns Us. It has almost 60 posts! So, we’re moving most of that pimpage over to MGoSwim.com and hope you’ll join us there. If not, your computer will crash from the lack of input from all things Club Wolverine. Are you really willing to risk that? I didn’t think so.

So after seeing the great news that Mr. Erik Vendt has just broken the 1000y Free American Record, I thought I’d check out his TYR athlete page.

Boy was I surprised to see that it’s not there anymore. No, I’m serious. See for yourself. Then I looked at their athlete roster and saw his name missing. But it wasn’t just Erik. Larsen Jensen’s name was also nowhere to be found.

Where, oh where, have Larjo and Erik gone?

And does this mean they are with another company? Larjo was relatively newly-signed too, wasn’t he?

So not only have we been slacking on the posts around here, but we’ve also bailed on yet another swim trip!

Yes, we know. Our priorities are all outta whack. You don’t have to tell us!

It’s not that we don’t want to go to meets, it’s that we can’t!

So there will be no Swim Aids posse at this weekend’s Long Beach Grand Prix. Our cali girl, kiwi, may drop by for a session or two, but that’s not the same. We’re as sad as you are.

However, every cloud has a silver lining. A couple of us may be going to Mizzou next month!

We know, we know….it’s kinda lame at the moment. It’s not us! The Swim Aids are never lame! It’s just that time of the season where swimming is on the DL. But we’re brushing away the cobwebs for this post!

So in anticipation for the Olympics and Trials (which is probably the greatest Swim Aid get together to date), Speedo updated their site to countdown the months, days, hours, etc., until 08.08.08., just like a certain Natatorium we all tend to gravitate to.

It’s actually pretty cool! At the top, you can search the Speedo athletes and read their profiles and see some nice snap shots. But, aren’t we missing a few other swimmers?
