This isn’t the nightly wrap-up, but I wanted to make a post just to shout out a very special visitor.
Mrs. Sandeno, thanks for the kind words and I’m glad you enjoy the site! Kaitlin made a point to let me know what you thought. I’ll try to keep it up! Be sure to check out MGoSwim, too. It revolves around all things Club Wolverine.
Oh, and the crime situation on the Ohio State campus isn’t quite as bad as it sounded in that earlier post, I promise! I hope you weren’t worring too much about Kaitlin!

Don’t care about my trip to the dentist? That’s too bad, because you’re going to read about it anyway!
First, let me start by saying that I think it’s a little ridiculous for an adult to think that I am still in high school. I got to my appointment a little before 3PM yesterday and my hygienist said “Did you just come from school?” Dude, seriously? It took all the self control I possessed not to say “Yea, 10 years ago.” Do I really look like I could be in high school? I mean, yea I’ve gotten carded at rated R movies before, but that was a while ago. I guess I should take it as a compliment?
Anyway, during my last visit (6 months ago, as is recommended) the last hygienist I had turned out to be a Masters swimmer that got her workouts in with the Westerville Masters club. I even recruited her to go to Big Tens that Ohio State hosted back in February.
So, imagine my surprise when my new hygienist was also a former swimmer! A cleaning that should have take about 15-20 minutes ended up being close to 45 because he wanted to talk swimming with me. I also made it a point to tell him about the Ohio State Grand Prix meet in early April. I do as much recruiting as I can!
It’s nice to be able to go about your day-to-day activities and run into people who also share a love for the sport of swimming. That’s hard to come by for someone, such as myself, who didn’t grow up swimming or have friends who did!
Note to other Swim Aids: When someone asks your real opinion on Phelps, try to avoid a pregnant pause before you give your opinion. People tend to jump to conclusions that are usually spot on… This effectively prevents you from giving the politically correct response we’ve all been spoon-fed.

As you’re probably well aware, there isn’t much going on in the Swim World. Let me rephrase that; there isn’t anything we would write about going on in the Swim World. There, now I hopefully won’t offend anyone. Not that I usually stay awake at night worrying about what other people think…
It’ s just as well because NCAA & NFL football has totally sucked me in and I’m not nearly as focused on swimming anyway!
I wish I could tell you we were working on some really awesome, but I’d be lying.
Actually, I sort of am working on something for SwimStars.org, but you may not see it for a while, so I don’t want to get anyone excited.
Soooo, heard any good jokes lately?

Erik Vendt swam in the Tiburon Open Water Mile Swim today. I don’t know if that is the offical title but I’m going to call it that. He did an amazing job swimming across from Angel Island to Tiburon Docks (?) to place 3rd. The winner was a german fellow. It was brawl at the end. Brutally stroke slapping, pushing, and possible biting at the end of the race!!! If anyone lives in the Bay Area, it is cool to watch soooo many people swim across and kinda exciting to see what is going happen at the finish line and it is annual!
I want to give Erik an extra shoutout of love for being sooo friendly and fantastically sweet.
