I recently completed the design and creation of Jessica Hardy’s brand spanking new official site and it includes a personal blog. So I’m now taking a second to pimp it out here on Swim Aids. Don’t hate! I will pimp out anyone who throws me work!
Jess is really cool and super fun, so I think you will all enjoy reading her blog, so check it out at jessicahardy.net/blog!
Jess likes to write nice and long entries; and there are already 2 of them. Definitely a blog to keep an eye on!
It’s no secret that the Swim Aids are in love with Miss Beard. So it shouldn’t be a secret that we can’t wait for her GoDaddy commercial to air this Saturday. It will be shown on ESPN2 during the Virgina-Miami game! No doubt it will be capped soon!
Yes, my friends, it is true. With all the talk of the Colorado Rockies and their late regular and post season streak, the SportsCenter gang gave a shout out to the Cheshire, CT girls high school swimming team for their 235th consecutive dual meet victory. That’s major! They haven’t lost since 1986!
This story was also shown on the local news, here in Columbus. Very refreshing because some of us don’t want to hear about OSU football 24/7…
Anyway, because I feel it is my job to share when swimming gets on TV, here is the short video snippet:
All signs are pointing to Amanda Beard as the next celebrity to endorse domain registrar GoDaddy.com. A news conference is expected later this week where Go Daddy CEO and founder Bob Parsons will formally announce the new celebrity “Go Daddy Girl”.
He gives some hints on his personal blog, and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure this one out:
Hints, hints, hints.
Here are a few hints (all of which are why I like this new Go Daddy Girl): she rides a Ducati motorcycle and is a world class athlete. She’s definitely GoDaddyEsque (i.e. edgy, fun and slightly inappropriate) and has been on the cover of Playboy magazine. Finally she’s an accomplished businesswoman who looks red hot when she’s wet.
So, we here at the Swim Aids would like to congratulate Amanda on this great business move. Homegirl keeps on doing the damn thing, doesn’t she?
When it rains it pours! First Amanda Beard shares the cover of Outside Magazine. Then Kathleen Hersey follows up with recognition in Sports Illustrated. And now we have Janet Evans scoring a front page headline on People Magazine’s website. Not too shabby press coverage for swim chicks lately, huh?
Janet’s article centers around how she stayed active in the pool while pregnant, and was back in the pool just 10 days after giving birth. Such a preganancy plan seemed to work wonders for Dara Torres as well.
Janet shared her story with PEOPLE while in New York for the 22nd Annual Great Sports Legends Dinner last week. Read it here.
And because sharing is caring — and we’re all about that around here — to your left is a picture we took of Janet at Nationals at the start of the Women’s 200 Free Awards Ceremony. (Yes, you can click it for a larger pic)
Miss Felicia Lee has had a stranglehold on the Sports Illustrated appearances recently. But being the kind and giving individual that she is, she’s decided to let someone else get some love in the magazine. Isn’t she great? How about a hand for Flee! She’s so gracious!
Anyway, in the October 1 issue of SI, you’ll be able to see Kathleen Hersey’s bright & shining smile in the prestigious “Faces In The Crowd” section. ( Click here for the online version) Pretty impressive, but not surprising considering the summer of domination she’s displayed!
And just for shits n’ giggles, here is a small selection of our pics from Nationals, where Kathleen did some more ass-kicking. We’re tellin’ ya: keep an eye on this girl. She’s destined for big things!
We caught Amanda on TV, again, a couple of days ago. She appeared on SpeedFreaks on ESPN2 where she talked about her love of motor sports and also shared more of her thoughts on women in sports posing for men’s magazines. Check it out:
