Cullen Getting Shine on YBF

Published by Suz under Out n' About, Pimpin' Aint Easy, Random

I’m a regular visitor to The YBF. For those of you not in the know, that stands for the ‘Young, Black, & Fabulous’. I gots to keep up on my peoples, ya know!

Anyway, I was looking through some recent posts and came across this one from earlier today.

YBF gave props to Cullen and showed a pic of him at one of his Diversity Tour stops. And judging from the comments, there look to be some newly created CJ fans. Never a bad thing, huh?

FAIL!!

So, as I was watching Sportscenter today while I was “babysitting” my cousin and they did a little segment with the PTI guys about Olympic Spirit. First of all, I disagree with them and their stance on how “after the second day of hearing 13-hour old news, no one will care.” People will care. Some may cheat and find out the results ahead of time, but people care. And second of all, Michael Phelps won 6 gold in ATHENS, not SYDNEY. I know, it’s a slip of the tongue, but still…

News Flash: Suz is Slow

Published by Suz under Oh Snap!, Random

Here it is a week after the Ohio State Grand Prix ended and I’m just now starting to go through the bulk of the photos I snapped.

Like I have before, I will be posting a small assortment of shots here. They will be of the swimmers that I don’t cover on Swim Stars.

I didn’t take any instant classic pictures this time around, even though I told The Hoff that I did. She’s always suspicious that I’m lurking ’round the deck doing my best paparazzi impression. I wish I could, but I can’t. I kind of stand out, ya know. It’s hard to be sneaky with a telephoto lens when the people you’re trying to shoot know you personally and you can’t blend in!

But I know I’m slacking. We usually stumble upon the classic shots when there’s more than one Swim Aid at a meet anyway.

So, basically what I’m saying is if you’re looking for post meet photo LOLZ, your best bet would be to make a beeline here shortly after Santa Clara ends. The on deck set-up for the media is perfect there!

Michael Klim: Trading in Goggles for Dancing Shoes

So, if you didn’t know that I was obsessed with the show Dancing with the Stars, shame on you! Last Tuesday current reigning DWTS champion, Apollo Anton Ohno, announced the new competitors of this season on Good Morning America. During the show, there was a mention of spin off shows in different countries, one of them being Australia, and wouldn’t you know those competitors were announced this past week also! Among the stars vying for the Australian DWTS title is former Olympic champion, Michael Klim.

Michael Klim on Australia's DWTS

Is it just me, or can anyone else picture a few USA swimmers out on the dance floor, doing the foxtrot?

Great ideas that come from being on the road

Published by KiWi under Random

 Daitlin or Kavis?

As we traveled on the road from Suz’s crib to the hotel in Indianapolis we thought about how celebrity couples always get their names combined such as Bennifer or Brangelina. A strike of genius came upon us post pasting the road signs about hell. We thought of our “favorite” swim couple, Kaitlin and Davis. We then came up with Datlin or Kavis. Let us take a poll! Vote for your favorite.

Michael Phelps and Bull Riding

Published by Carrie under Out n' About, Random

What do these two have in common, you may ask.  Well, I’ll tell you!

If you don’t know already, I am living out in South Dakota, where one of the state sports is bull riding.  Now me personally, I do not know how this is a sport, but whatever, that’s not the point of this post.

The whole family and I are at an appliance store, checking out mini-fridges for my dorm room, when a worker asks us if we need help.  We go on to talk about the features of this fridge, when my mom speaks up.

“Has anyone told you that you look like Michael Phelps?”

The worker guy gave her a look and shook his head, claiming not to know who he is.  I held in a laugh, seeing as asking that question is usually my job, not my mom’s.  Then the worker looked at us, as if he knew who we were talking about.

“Oh wait, is that the bull riding champion from the East?”

Now, do it with me everyone:

*smack forehead*

And that my friends, is the only time you will ever see “Michael Phelps” and “Bull Riding” in the same conversation.
