It’s no secret that my love for all things Michigan swimming took a hit when RegFly stole my mgoswim.com domain away from me. Don’t you worry, though. Every night, I bust out my RegFly voo-doo doll. They’ll get theirs!
Anyway, the love hasn’t really left, so it will be openly expressed right here on our Swim Aid shrine, just like it originally was, pre-domain.
I’m bringing it back with a congratulatory post. Michigan junior Chris Brady was recently named to the 2010 Order of Angell class.
Because I’m not that “in the know”, with regards to clubs and societies in the greater Michigan community, I’ll simply direct everyone to Wikipedia for further explanation.
Make no mistake. This is a big friggin’ deal!
Swim Aid favorite, PVK, is also a member of this select group of Michigan Men, as is one of my all-time favorite football players, Mike Hart.
At last month’s NCAA Championships in College Station, TX, Chris earned 4 All-America honors in the 400-yard medley relay (8th), 200-yard medley relay (7th), 100-yard butterfly (4th), and 400-yard freestyle relay (6th).

I took video of the final event of the Big Ten quad-meet over the weekend; the 200y Free Relay. Michigan’s ‘A’ squad — comprised of captains Jamie Martone and Matt Patton as well as Chris Brady and Charlie Houchin — took first in 1:19.41. Second place was claimed by Ohio State’s ‘A’ team while 3rd went to Penn State.
Watch the video below:
I’m enjoying my jailbroken iPhone entirely too much!
And I do have a small sampling of photos that I will eventually share here. I would have put this on MGoSwim, but the powers that be at RegFly, saw fit to charge my card for the domain renewal and then take the domain away from me. Bastards…

For a grand total of 4 hours last night and this afternoon swimming came back into my life!
It’s been a very long stretch since I last covered an event. And while I wouldn’t call what I was doing this weekend “covering”, it was still nice to experience.
Everyone knows of my love affair with the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion on the Ohio State University Campus. It’s literally one of the nicest facilities I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been to quite a few in the past 4.5 years. I went to the Ohio State vs. Kenyon meet, back in October, but that didn’t do a whole lot for me. In my heart, I knew it wouldn’t be right unless the men of the Maize and Blue were in the house.
This weekend they were and I couldn’t have been happier! Not just because I rep for Club Wolverine, but because it meant I got to gossip with one of my fave sets of swim parentals: the Vanderkaays. If you don’t know, you betta ask somebody! Anyway, OSU hosted a big quad-meet that brough Northwestern, Penn State, and Michigan to town. In addition, the Penn State women made the trip to duel the OSU women. For those reasons, the meet pretty much had to be broken up into 2 days. Continue Reading »

So, stop me if you’ve heard this one before…
You own a domain and the place where you registered it was great when you bought it, but has gone down the tubes as of late. Still haven’t heard this one?
Well, when said registrar starts sucking, bad things happen like losing the domain you love. That is what has happened with MGoSwim. ‘Tis a sad, sad time.
Now I do have a few options.
1. Buy another domain in a different extension and resume blogging like nothing has happened
2. Bring back all the Michigan Swim Whore blogging to Swim Aids. It did start here if you’ll recall.
3. Forget MGoSwim and pimp another program. Just kidding. I’m not sure I could do that.
Thoughts?

Well, here it is! The new look at The Swim Aids! And if you don’t see it, hit refresh (F5)
I’m currently obsessed with the ripple water effect that you see in the new header. I’m using it everywhere, including paid work. I’m told it has a calming effect and around here, we are alllll about that! I am also aware that it takes a few seconds to download the first time around. Just think, if you continue to come back, that won’t be a problem! Your temporary internet files should keep it in tact!
Also, you may have noticed some new content on the far sidebar. We are displaying our RSS feed from our new “side project” as hinted in the comments. Yes, we know you read those, even if you aren’t joining in. That new side project should be no surprise to people who actually have checked out the “Special Guest” page. Pimpin’ the Club Wolverine program is something we do entirely too often around here, as evidenced by the category Club Wolverine Owns Us. It has almost 60 posts! So, we’re moving most of that pimpage over to MGoSwim.com and hope you’ll join us there. If not, your computer will crash from the lack of input from all things Club Wolverine. Are you really willing to risk that? I didn’t think so.
