Four More Years for Natalie
It’s been in the back of our minds for a while. Don’t front, it’s been in the back of yours as well. What am I talking about?
I’m talking about who is and isn’t going to retire after Beijing.
The Swim Aids are on pins and needles about this topic. It’s a good thing we aren’t the betting type. Judging from our signing sweepstakes predictions, we’d probably end up devastatingly broke at summer’s end.
There are some we know are 100% done after Beijing. Our dear Kaitlin is amongst this group. Every time we see her, we try to put on the “brave face”. But in reality, we’re holding back tears.
There is another group we are unsure of, but our hunches are leaning towards the pessimistic. We’re in denial. PVK, we’re talking to you, buddy!
Then, finally, there are the ones we know are nowhere near finished. The Lochtenator, The Hoff, J. Hardy, our fave young’uns etc. They keep us going through this time of uncertainty.
We kind of expected Natalie to hang up the suit after Beijing. But she has recently gone on record that she will continue until the London Games in 2012!

YAY! This makes me happy. Now I don’t have to worry about her. Just others….haha!
And yeah, if we did a prediction contest it would probably be bad.
Awww–Kaitlin is retiring? Maybe she can get that gig on the Today show that she wants!
Anyway, Suz, I’m back from Orlando (well, I’ve been back for a few days, it’s just been nuts getting caught back up) so if you want to go out to dinner or something this weekend, let me know. My email’s still shannenb1234 at gmail.com.
Sa-weet! I’m going to the Ohio State Spring Football game on Saturday. So I’ll probably be pretty useless and incoherent (
) that entire day. I totally want to go see Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Maybe Friday? I’ll holla atcha a little lata!
Haha! I was just thinking we should go see that!
Yeah, Friday would work–Saturday morning I’ve got to go to Anthony’s soccer game in Westerville and I don’t know how long that will take.
So yeah, just drop me an email–my cell phone is dead and I’m trying to go through my luggage to find my charger, so email is the best for now.
