Pan Am Games TV Coverage Update

Posted July 10, 2007 at 5:03 pm by Suz in Doing the right thing,Swimming Worldwide

For months we’ve been told that we need to subscribe to ESPN Deportes in order to see Pan American Games coverage. (See related post) The newest releases suggest that that is no longer the case (thankfully).

It is now being reported that all of the ESPN networks will provide some bit of coverage, with some of ESPN Deportes’ coverage being simulcast on ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN360.com.

Here’s some more info:

ESPN will produce more than 160 hours of Pan American Games-related programming – the most ever televised in the United States.

ESPN Deportes, the Spanish-language network, will offer at least 10 hours of daily coverage starting with opening ceremonies July 13 at 3 p.m. Spanish-language coverage will begin at noon and conclude at 10 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. – 10 p.m. on weekends.

Each day will begin with a preview show and conclude with a one-hour live edition of SportsCenter at 10 p.m.

I still wish I got ESPN Deportes so I could see comprehensive coverage, but then again, I don’t have the best grasp of the Spanish language (French student here!) so I probably wouldn’t enjoy it as much as I would like. Full press release here.
