Oh no he didn’t!
I don’t know if y’all have seen it, but it seems that a certain South African swimmer has been sippin’ on some hater-ade. He needs to put it down and replace it with a tall glass of STFUâ„¢.
Rising U.S. star Cullen Jones won the men’s 50 freestyle in 21.84 seconds, a Pan Pac record.
Roland Schoeman of South Africa took silver in 22.12. Canada’s Brent Hayden earned bronze, his fourth medal.
Jones was part of the Phelps-led U.S. team that broke South Africa’s 2-year-old world record in the 400 freestyle relay Saturday night.
“Cullen who?” Schoeman said dismissively after the 50 preliminaries.
Oh, Puh-leeze, Roland! He best familiarize himself with the name Cullen Jones. It will be appearing ahead of his, in the final standings, for years to come!

I had to marshall Roland after the 50 free. I could tell he was NOT happy. HAHA I actually lost him because I was so jealous of the guy who got Cullen! The BEST man won!
are you serious? are. you. SERIOUS. cullen who? cullen… the guy who whooped your sorry a$$, that’s who. way to go jones!
Wow. Harsh there, huh buddy? Oh well…Cullen showed you!
AHAHA….after telling this to my black friend:
“Oh hellz no! That white South Aferican dude is just jealous that he can’t be full Aferican like my brother!”
No lie…
Schoeman had better know the name Cullen Jones because this guy is going to be the one who is wearing the 50 free gold medal in Beijing in ’08. For real.
Come on guys I think we all need to calm down and take a step back for a minute. First of all Roland Schoeman is one of the greatest swimmers in The Republic of South Africa’s history and therefore I think he deserves some respect and forgivness for not following his opponents as closely as we think he should.
So…let me get this straight: because he is a good swimmer, he can be disrespectful and display poor sportsmanship whenever he pleases?
I don\’t buy that. I also don\’t buy that he doesn\’t know who Cullen is. He definitely does. That comment was meant to be disrespectful and everyone knows it. That is why his statements are being reported throughout the swimming world.
There is such a thing as class and he should befriend Cullen so he can learn what that is, and then begin using it.
Respect is earned through actions.
Yeah, I totally agree with Suz. He wouldn’t have said something like that if he didn’t mean it.
You hit the nail on the head Suz with your astute comment. I have one comment for Annabananna greatness is not just measured by the number of races you win or the number of medals you win but how you handle yourself in the pool and out of the pool. This is other wise known as having grace, humility and class- something that Roland Schoeman is definitely lacking. Let’s see how many people remember his name in ten years. Peace.
i agree with you too suz….just cause youre a good swimmer doesnt mean you get to put other swimmers down. thats not only disrespectful to cullen but its disrespectful to the sport of swimming. when people see that kind of stuff they are going to think that swimming is full of(well maybe not full of but you get my point im sure) arrogant people that could care less on how everyone else is progressing….no self respecting person is going to want to participate in that kind of sport if more and more things like this keep happening
