Amanda Beard in Playboy? We Can’t wait!
We’re not going to lie, we think Amanda Beard has got it going on.
The Swim Aids are all female and straight; although several of us admit that we could be tempted to play for the “other team” on a few isolated occasions. But that’s a different post for a different day. We’re talking about Miss Beard right now.
We are fully aware that not everyone approves of Amanda’s latest career move, and we understand where they are coming from and why they do not. To each his/her own. However, we are not in that group.
We cannot wait for Amanda’s issue of Playboy to hit newsstands! We will proudly march up to the counter with our copy, then rush home to check it out! Or maybe in our cars in the parking lot?
One Swim Aid gave the following insight, which pretty much sums things up for us:
Girrrl if you got it, flaunt it! Shit, if I looked like her, my ass would be naked all the time… and everyone else would just have to deal with looking at my beautiful ass all damn day long!
We couldn’t agree more. Go on wit yo bad self, Amanda!
P.S. Y’all didn’t think we were actually going to discuss this seriously, did you? You must be new around here! But if you’re looking for more of an explanation, here’s a little something extra: we don’t think her posing is damaging to females, herself, or the sport. It’s fine if you disagree. You can talk about that on your own blog.

i understand why some people are outraged but i seriously think more positives will come out of it than bad. Amanda isnt some LA plastic surgery bimbo. Her smoking body has been shaped by swimming and won’t that say alot in itself?
I will proudly go to the store and pick myself up a copy.

I fourth the quote! (can I even do that?) I’m so excited for this, and her… Definitely think its going to bring swimming up on the radar for guys (and girls, HAAY!), and I cannot WAIT to pick my copy up!

i think she’s awesome! and the fact that she is comfortable to pose in the magazine says a lot too, esp. with girls struggling with how they view their bodies. i think it’s a good move (:
Way to go Amanda! You are a beautiful, confident and healthy young woman. If swimming can give you those results I would say that it is a definite plus for all females. Let’s see how many photographers and paparazzi swarm around her in Beijing. We may have to hire a batallion of guards to keep everyone at bay. LOL.
