Coming into NCs, BWT had already established himself as one of the top US sprinters. Then he went and broke the American record in the 50y Free several times during the NCAA Championships. Honestly, who does that?

Stanford is a Nike school. BWT broke the American record most likely in a Nike suit. What could be better for the co. than adding another record-holder to their roster? However, this is Nike we’re talking about. And they made a major investment in Cullen Jones, another spring specialist, last year.

So factoring in those things, and how often I’m wrong, I’m going to have BWT sign Speedo and be repped by PMG. I didn’t pick TYR for him because I am expecting them to sign someone else out of this bunch…

Let’s talk about our boy, Matt Grevers, shall we? It takes a special guy to come to the NCAA Champs and basically try a completely different program of events than he had in past years and contend for the title in all of them. That’s Matt!

Now, Northwestern is a TYR school. Grevers even sports TYR gear in his free time! This includes hats and t-shirts. They would be dropping the ball if they did not go after him. I’m so for real. I don’t have any guesses as to who will rep Matt. He seems like the type of guy who would choose someone that no one has heard of, haha. It’s also hard to predict because he is the first man from the NU program to do the professional thing. Unchartered waters. I’m also going to go out on the limb and say that I think Grevers will eventually relocate. I don’t know where to, but I don’t think he’s going to stay put at Northwestern. Lord help me if he ends up in Ann Arbor…

The thing about Larsen is that you just never know what he’s going to do! There are even hints that he won’t be competing in the sport much longer. So sponsoring him for 15-16 months isn’t a deal that is going to break the backs of any of the swimwear companies. Even having said that, I see Speedo in Larsen’s future. They don’t seem to have a major distance male signed and he would fill that void, even if only for about a year. I’m going to predict PMG for Larsen as well. Those USC swimmers seem to like PMG! As for his location, many have speculated that Larsen would move training bases. Larsen seems pleased with his new coach, Dave Salo, after his 500y Free win at NCs. I really can’t see LarJo leaving Cali. The only place I’d see him go would be back to Mission Viejo. So, I guess we’ll see!

Garrett took the 100y Free title at the 2006 NCAA Champs last year. He’s also been in the mix of US sprinters at all major competitions for a couple of years now. We’re waiting for his big breakout, and I think it will happen soon! He’s got a great training environment at Longhorn (which he’d be crazy to leave). Nike definitely is not in the picture as far as GWG is concerned. I flipped a coin and got Speedo for Garrett. But I also wouldn’t be surprised if TYR courted him. I’d actually like to see him sign with TYR, to tell you the truth!
