Props For One of the Finest Indoor Swimming Facilities

And not just because it is a short 10 minute drive from me.

Ohio State’s Bill & Mae McCorkle Aquatic Pavillion

The Bill & Mae McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion, home of the Ohio State Buckeye swim program, has been given a 4 page spread in the July/August issue of Aquatics International magazine. There is an article and pictures that accompany the feature which boldly points out how the University’s facility “sets a university apart from the competition”. My vote is for the instant replay on the scoreboard. It’s dope. Seriously. Check it out here.

I checked out the architects of the facility and turns out my family has direct ties to one of them. Moody Nolan Inc. was founded about 25 years ago with the help of a generous donation from my uncle who was playing in the NBA at the time. Curtis Moody, the owner, was a college friend of his! And this has been another tidbit of useless information, courtesy of Suz. You know you love it.

Anyway, the Swim Aids are prepping for a big reunion in Indy for Nationals and a few of us are getting the party started a few days early at my crib. We might just take a trip on over to McCorkle. You never know!

My question- why is it an aquatic PAVILION?

Didn’t see your reply until now, T-dog.

      A: It’s just that bad ass. That’s why ;)

Actually the building that it’s in actually is a pavilion, by the sheer definition of the word. The facility is friggin’ huge with a lot of different areas. On the other side of the competition pool and diving well, there’s a huge rec pool that is amazing! We took a tour there, after it opened, and it blew our minds!
