I’m so tired of the suit wars. I wanna go back to the olden days where, when I’m shooting swimmers at a meet, I don’t feel like I’m capturing stills from a porno.

These days… as evidenced by the following swatch of suits from Summer Nationals in Irvine 2006.

Speedo Fastskin II

You know, back when the swimmers could show their personality in the suits color and it was cool. There was more than black, baby shit brown, and offensive (and see-through) red, blue, and gold apparel.

So, if someone can fix the situation and bring back this era, I’d be greatly appreciative. kthanxbai.

I agree. I miss those days too, but didn’t FINA ban those suits right before the 2007 Worlds?

Were they? I totally don’t remember that! Or maybe I simply redacted that news because I liked those suits? lol

What was this suit? FS-Pro? This is from Worlds. I notice Kletus has a different one on. Maybe Speedo just released a new one and not necessarily because the previous version was banned? Beats me! I just wanna go back!

I think it was the Fastskin II. Not FS-PRO. I am trying to find the article about it. If you look at the list of the suits that are allow for worlds (before FINA change their mind) Fastskin II is not on the list. FS-PRO is on the list. Oh trust me I wanna go back too. I didn’t like seeing the sea of black and those other colors that were not pretty to look at.

I can’t find the article, it was on timedfinals but the site is down. I think it was the TYR Arm Band that came out around 2004 that got ban. Some reason I thought the Fastskin II got ban in international meets because of “external devices”, but it could of been just the TYR Arm Band. In the article on Timedfinals I thought it said something about Fastskin II. Oh well. I rather see swimmers in a Fastskin II instead of all the 2008 and 2009 suits.
